Spelling bee competition held in Kiphire

As part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, district administration Kiphire organised a district-level school spelling bee competition on November 1 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) office Kiphire.
According to a DIPR report, the competition was the first spelling bee competition organised in the district with an aim to “encourage students learning through improvement of vocabulary and understanding of words”.
Speaking at the programme, DC Kiphire, T Wati Aier appreciated the efforts of the students and also urged them to participate in extra-curricular activities which would help in strengthening their academic performance.
The competition saw participation from 10 schools with 23 students, where Seye from Loyola Higher Secondary School, Thingrila A Sangtam from Saramati View Modern School, Tsurikhumla from Christian School Pungro and Sarah Poudel from El Beth School Kiphire bagged the first, second, third and fourth positions respectively.
The competition was moderated by EAC Kihpire, Ane Khieya and judged by MGN fellow Sukanya and Niti Aayog Byju’s Fellow Prarthana.
