State govt signs MoU with Patanjali foods Ltd

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the State Government, represented by the director of Agriculture, Nagaland and Patanjali Foods Ltd (PFL) (Formerly known as Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd) represented by Subhas Bhattacharjee, Head-NE Region, Oil Palm on January 31 at the Directorate of Agriculture for the development and area expansion under oil palm cultivation and processing for Zone-II (Mokokchung, Longleng and Mon districts) in the State of Nagaland under National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP)
According to a press release by director of Agriculture, PFL was allotted Zone II where there is a wide scope for oil palm plantation in the State against an EOI released by the Department recently.
Patanjali Foods Ltd is already working in the State of Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Tripura in the North East. During August 2022, PFL has laid the foundation stone of setting up an oil mill in East Siang district at Niglok, Arunachal Pradesh.
The signing of the MoU hopes to boost the oil palm growers in the State.
