Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) Ltd, chairman Miathou Krose inaugurated the state Handloom Expo on Friday, at Urban Haat Dimapur.
In a press release, NHHDC Ltd managing director Zakabo V Rotokha stated that the expo is being organised by NHHDC and sponsored by the office of the Development commissioner (Handloom), ministry of Textiles.
The main objective of the exhibition is to develop and promote marketing channels in domestic and export markets and bring linkage between the two in a holistic and integrated manner.
It will also serve to provide marketing opportunities to handloom workers with special focus on talented and uncovered weaver.
Altogether, 60 participants from Assam, Manipur and various districts in Nagaland are exhibiting varieties of handloom products. The expo will culminate on September 29.
