STCC to observe ‘World no tobacco day’

The State Tobacco Control Cell (STCC) has informed that “World no Tobacco Day 2022” will be observed across the state on May 31 on this year’s theme, “Tobacco- A threat to Environment”.
According to a DIPR report, additional director and state nodal officer, Dr. C Tetseo informed that the District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) in all the districts would be organising activities including competition and awareness programmes in districts and block headquarters during the week, and would culminate on May 31.
In addition to district-level activities, STCC informed that it would also be organising a state-level picture and caption competition on the theme.
The competition is open to all the school and college students in the state with cash prizes and certificates, which will be awarded to the best three.
The picture and caption may be submitted to stccnagaland@gmail.com by May 31. Dr. Tetseo also informed that tobacco use among school students was on the rise.
In this regard, he appealed to all the schools and colleges in the state to organise some activities to create awareness and also to mark the day.
