Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto hosts seminar on health care

A health care and management seminar was organised by Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto (SBCZ) in collaboration with the District Health Society (DHS) Zunheboto on August 30 at SBCZ.
A press release by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Zunheboto office stated that a free mega screening of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) was conducted and availed by 200 beneficiaries.
A medical team of 12 medical officers, ten nurses, eight lab technicians and other supporting staffs from CMO and District Hospital establishment rendered their services. Resource person of the seminar, deputy CMO Zunheboto, Dr. K. Akaho Sema while speaking on the topic, “adopting healthy life style” stated that NCDs alone accounts for 62% of mortality and morbidity.
He stressed on the importance of exercise, dietary pattern, self-care and periodic screening of NCDs and emphasized on the regular follow up and adherence to treatment and also briefed on mental health and care for the elderly.
Resource speaker, managing director, Rochill Hospital Zunheboto, Dr.Tokugha Y. Rochill spoke on the topic, “men, women and health” and emphasized on the importance of family planning, women health and how men should be equally involved in family planning.
He further stressed on care during pregnancy and the importance and safety of institutional delivery.
