Sümi Hoho holds ‘Unity prayer programme’at Ahuna festival

Sümi Hoho organised “Sümi Unity Prayer Programme” at Sümi Baptist Church Zunheboto (SBCZ) on the second day of the Ahuna celebration on November 13.
According to media coordinator of Sümi Hoho at the prayer programme, advisor Tourism, Art and Culture, H Khehovi Yepthomi delivered greetings to the congregation and termed it as special moment.
He said Zunheboto being heart of Nagaland, encouraged the congregation to love and forgive others, and to stand for peace and unity.
“Zunheboto is a land of warriors but now we should be warriors of peace and love”, Yepthomi said.
He also encouraged the congregation to live a life of testimony to the non-Sümi people living in and around Zunheboto.
Er Picto Shohe, MLA, the guest of honour, thanked the Sümi Hoho for organising the programme and spoke on the importance of culture, saying that in the olden days, Ahuna festival was celebrated to bring peace and unity. He therefore encouraged the congregation to speak and stand for the truth and pray for the Sümi people.
Sümi Hoho president, I. Nikheto Jimomi delivered a key note address where he thanked the SBCZ for organising the programme.
The three-day celebrations of Ahuna, one of the main festivals of the Sümis, concluded on November 14.
It may be noted that Tourism department is planning to illuminate SBCZ with lights under the scheme PRASAD which has been approved by the Ministry of Tourism.
The main speaker of the programme was Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC), pastor, Dr Daniel Chishi as the main speaker.
The programme was chaired by Dr Huttton Sümi, pastor of SBCZ and began with an invocation by Agape Chishi, Asst youth pastor of SBCZ.
