ISL PLAYER BODO JR SCORES FOR BARAK FC
Star studded Barak FC thrashed Wolves XI FC 5-0 while A-Yhome also registered a thumping 6-1 win over United Brothers FC 6-1 on the second day of the ongoing Kohima Super Cup (KSC) organised by Kohima Town Club, here at IG Stadium on Tuesday.
Baoringdao Boro (Bodo Jr) , who played in the Indian Super League (ISL) for team Odisha FC, made an impact in his first appearance by scoring two goals. He scored the goals in the 34th and 53rd minutes after Elminhao opened the account in 23rd minute.
Elminhao added his second in the 61st minute. The final blow to the Wolves came from the boot of Samson Konyak at the 68th minute.
Bodo Jr., was part of the Chennaiyin FC, which won the Indian Super League in 2018. He was born to a Dimasa Kachari family from Haflong, Dima Hasao in the neighbouring State Assam.
The 22 -year-old winger have also played for Minerva Punjab and Kerela Blasters.
He is the youngest footballer in Indian history to have made it into the senior category in January 2017 when he was selected to be part of team Chennaiyin FC.
Bodo Jr is currently part of U-19 India team and he had also previously captained the U-17 national team.
Although Wolves XI, a team made up of young players all under- 19, could not score any goal against their mighty opponent, they displayed great skill and prowess in the field.
Earlier, A-Yhome defeated United Brothers FC 6-1 and secured a slot in the next round.
Johnson scored three goals in the 61st, 77th and 86th minutes and became the second player to score a hat-trick in the ongoing cup.
Fellow teammates Vilhoubeituo, Ringham Jigdung and Punuru each contributed a goal in the 9th, 29th and 47th minutes.
Mhalezotuo Dzüvichü scored the lone goal for United Brothers. The two winning teams, both from group 2, will now head to the league round where they will play against each other on May 23 in the first league match for the group.
