Paid holiday: State government through a circular has declared November 7, 2023—the day of poll for the by-election to 43-Tapi (ST) assembly constituency—as paid holiday for all the employees of government, banks, financial institutions, private business establishments, industrial undertakings or any other establishment including any person employed in any trade in 43-Tapi assembly constituency to enable them to participate and exercise their franchise.
The circular stated that paid holiday would also apply to all the categories of employees, who are registered as electors in the said Constituency but employed in an industrial undertaking or an establishment located outside the said Constituency.
However, it would not apply to any elector whose absence may cause danger or substantial loss in respect of the employment in which he or she is engaged.
