The 8th edition of CoMFIESTA 2023 (inter-institutional fest) organized by the department of Commerce and Management, Tetso College was held on October 20 with CEO Entrepreneurs Associates, Neichute Doulo, as the special guest.
St. Joseph College Jakhama (Autonomous) was declared the overall champion closely followed by Tetso College as runners-up. The inter-institutional fest is organized by the Department of Commerce and Management, Tetso College annually to promote team spirit and to test the mental and artistic calibre of students.
The fest saw participation from different institutions namely, C-Edge College, Pranabananda Women’s College, Public College of Commerce, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama, Unity College, St. Joseph University, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), ICFAI University, Carmel Higher Secondary School Chekiye, Livingstone Foundation International College, and Tetso College.
Based on the tagline, “Where Talent Meets”, the students competed in different events such as Contrakeenos, Dramatisement, Crack it! Win it!, Sell it! Win it!, Business Talkathon, Mobile Legends, Comfiesta’s Got Talent and Vignette Business Reels.
The first position of Contrakeenos was bagged by Siddhart Jha and Shuvam Das of Unity College and the 1st runners-up was secured by Sushen Debnath and Anamica Debnath of Tetso College.
In business talkathon, the winner for the motion went to I. Imlikumzuk Jamir of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama. The winner against the motion was Gourab Deb from Public College.
In dramatisement, the first place went to Patkai Christian College and the spot of the runners-up was secured by St. Joseph College, Jakhama.
The event Crack it! Win it! had Binod Biswakarma from St. Joseph College Jakhama and Nyimang Mong S from C Edge College emerge as the winners.
In Mobile Legends, St. Joseph University was the champion while Tetso College won the Sell it! Win it! competition. In CoMFIESTA’s Got Talents, one of the most anticipated events of the fest, Livingstone Foundation International College were announced the winners with the runners-up secured by Pranabananda Women’s College.
The event also had competitions that was held on online platform called Vignette Business Reels, where Imkumrenla Jamir from Tetso College was the winner. Speaking at the programme, the special guest, Neichute Doulo, spoke on the topic of entrepreneurship and how such individuals must possess the quality of a growth mindset. Stating that success is relative, he emphasized that building networks, finding mentors, and working with likeminded people are the key factors required to thrive in the business world.
Neichute challenged the participants to always keep learning, to stay resilient, and never to stop believing in themselves. He further encouraging the students with a powerful sentence, “Let your talent earn you a living and never limit yourself.”
Delivering welcome address, principal Tetso College, Dr. Hewasa L. Khing, encouraged all the students to continue to think out of the box, not to stop believing in oneself and to continue working hard towards one’s goals. She also persuaded the students to be great individuals who will have a positive impact in the world as the college motto stands.
