Nagaland police personnel, narcotic cell PS mobile unit on September 1, while performing routine frisking at NH-2 arrested Amon Raingam (52) son of ‘lt.’ Lungrei Raingram of Phaalee, Ukhrul, ng. Masotmi (42) son of ng. Katui of Phadang, Ukhrul and Holichan Shinglai (53) son of Prangke Shinglai of Kasom Khullen, Ukhrul on charges of possessing 200 kgs of suspected ganja.
According to PRO PHQ Kohima, the duty party intercepted a Dimapur-bound vehicle (HR51 AU/5006) near Viswema Y-Junction of Kohima-Pfütsero-Imphal, which was coming from Imphal, Manipur.
On thorough search of the vehicle, PRO said police recovered the suspected ganja, which were found wrapped in black polythene.
The illegal contraband along with the vehicle were seized and a case under NDPS Act was registered for further investigation.
