Tokhü women volleyball trophy

The two-day, 1st Tokhü Women Volleyball Running Tourney organized by Lotha Youth Organization Dimapur (LYOD) commenced here Friday at MDSC state stadium under the theme “Gender equality in sports”.
Eight teams are participating in the tournament namely LBC Purana bazar, Lotsu village, Bor-lengri, VLO Rilan village, Mt Morashen Club, Riphyim, Old Ralan village, New Ralan village and Kyong Colony Youth Club.
The inaugural programme was graced by PMAY (Urban) Housing for all Dimapur in-charge K Longshithung Lotha as special guest. He lauded the organization for taking up the initiative to provide platform for the women and cited examples of women who have excel in sports. He hoped that the initiative will encourage the women to come up and be at bar with their male counterparts.
At the programme, welcome address was delivered by LYOD president, Nzanbemo Humstoe where he highlighted on the objective of the event.
Oath taking was presided over by LYOD games and sports secretary Elithung Yanthan.
The programme was chaired by LYOD assistant general secretary Thechano Kithan, invocation by Lotha Eloe Ekhung Dimapur (LEED) vice chairperson Angelina Ngullie and special number by Rhonbemo Humtsoe.
Later, vote of thanks was delivered by LYOD general secretary TY Ovung.
