ToT for ASHA trainers underway in Kohima

A Training of Trainers (ToT) for district Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) trainers comprising of district community mobilisers (DCMs) and block ASHA coordinators (BACs) organised by National Health Mission (NHM) Nagaland got underway on Wednesday at DUDA guest house, Kohima.
In a press release, NHM Nagaland stated during the inaugural programme, NHM mission director (MD), Dr. Thorhusie Katiry and NHM state programme officer (SPO) Dr. Mereninla Senlem encouraged the trainees to proactively participate and learn as much as possible.
They were also advised to provide handholding support to ASHAs at grassroots level for all activities and to take advantage of all available platforms such as the Village Health and Nutrition Days (VHND), church programmes, village meetings etc., to educate the community on health-related issues.
The resource persons for the training includes Senior Consultant, CP, Dr. Devajit Bora, Consultant, CP, Pumani Kalita and Consultant CP, Sandhani Gogoi from Regional Resource Centre-Northeast (RRC-NE), NHSRC, Guwahati.
The programme was attended by NHM deputy director Dr. Tinurenla Anichari.
Altogether, 58 DCMs and BACs are participating in the training, which will conclude on October 28.
