Tovihoto felicitates Meetei HSLC, HSSLC toppers

Dimapur Meetei Council (DMC) on Sunday felicitated its meritorious students of HSLC and HSSLC exams, at BSNL Community Centre, Dimapur, under the theme, “Your day to shine and our day to appreciate”. It can be noted that Top 1 in the recently declared HSLC exams hails from Meeitei community.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, advisor, Power, Tovihoto Ayemi, stated that felicitation programmes were important adding that such programmes motivate and inspire students to work harder in achieving their goals.
Stressing on the theme, he noted that all were gathered to celebrate the achievement of young minds of Meetei students and acknowledged all the successful students.
He also acknowledged Delphi Oinam, who secured Top 1 in the HSLC NBSE examination, and considered her achievement as “remarkable”.
Mentioning that success was the result of hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and sacrifices, Ayemi remarked that nothing in life comes easy, but with patience, hard work, and determination.
He stated that student life was the most important phase in one’s life as it moulds a person, and therefore called upon all students to work hard, never give up, and to believe in themselves and encouraged to bring more laurels.
For those striving for their goals, he urged all to work harder, adding that success awaits them.
“Education has the ability to transform and is the backbone of every society”, he stated.
He concluded his address by stating that as leaders of tomorrow, he wished all students great success ahead and expressed hope for better leadership.
Meanwhile, delivering her speech, Delphi Oinam, acknowledged DMC for organising the felicitation programme, adding that such programmes sourcedmotivation and inspiration for all students.
She later stressed on hard work, perseverance, and dedication to achieve one’s aim, further encouraging all to work hard, adding that as long as one works hard, no one could stop them.
Shethen credited her success to God, parents, teachers, and well wishers.
Earlier, programme was chaired by Anima Thongbam, opening prayer offered by DMC Women wing, and welcome address delivered by working president, DMC, Prem Thongbam and presidential address delivered by president, DMC, Sarat Thangjam.
Highlights of the programme included welcome song and drama by DMC Youth Wing, Manipuri Fusion Jagoi by Meetei kids, folk Jagoi by Lautambam Ranjita Chanu and Soibam Indrani Devi, and Thougal Jagoi by Nomita and group.
It can be noted that Delphi Oinam secured the highest ever percentile (99.1%) ever achievedby any student in the history of HSLC of NBSE.
