Training on scientific piggery & input distribution

 Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Peren organised a training programme on scientific piggery-cum-input distribution on December 10 at KVK Farm. 

In a press release, ICAR research complex for NEH region, Jalukie informed that the programme was sponsored by ICAR- Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology (IIAB), RANCHI under NEH Component.

During the welcome speech, PS & Head, Dr. KL Meena advised the participants to sincerely practice farming for entrepreneurship development.  

Meanwhile, during the technical session, SMS (A/Sc), Dr. L. Babita Devi sensitised participants on the importance of growing bio-fortified maize for feeding livestock.

ICAR Nagaland Centre, scientist (PBG) Dr. Harendra Verma also elaborated in details about the cultivation practices of bio-fortified maize and encouraged the participants to go for value addition of maize for high income generation.

Later, SMS (PBG) Dr. Patu K. Zeliang delivered a lecture on the importance of seed production.  Altogether, 40 participants from Mhainamtsi, Jalukie B, New Jalukie and Jalukie Town attended the training programme.

As a part of the training, expert –farmer interaction/group discussion was also conducted followed by a visit to farmers field for monitoring of maize.
