Tuli Town Council (TTC) organised a felicitation and thanksgiving programme on Wednesday, at Town Hall, Tuli town under Mokokchung district, to celebrate the recognition attained by Tuli Town in the recent competition conducted by the Urban Development department for Cleanest Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Wards Award 2022.
In a press release, Tuli Town Council informed that ADC and administrator Tuli Town Council, Shaying Sheu expressed happiness on the awards conferred to the council.
He lauded Tuli Town Wards’ Union (TTWU) and ward committees for making the achievement possible and acknowledged various government departments and civil society organisations (CSOs) for diligently performing their roles to reach the milestone.
Dedicating the awards to the public of Tuli town, he challenged the gathering to give more efforts so that the town may achieve a higher rank in the next edition of the competition.
The programme was chaired by SDO (Civil) Tuli, Weku Zhiemi, introductory speech by Tuli Town Wards’ Union chairman, T Nukshi Yaden while Sanitation Committee, Tuli town convenor, Temsunungba spoke on the topic, “Way Forward”.
Speeches were also delivered by sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Tuli, K Moa on behalf of heads of offices and Watsu Telen Tuli president, Koralila on behalf of civil society organisations.
The programme was attended by heads of offices of Tuli and representatives from all the wards of the town, GBs Union, Tuli Town Area Pastors’ Fellowship, Watsu Telen Tuli, Business Association, Tuli and Ao Students’ Union, Tuli Town.
It may be mentioned that during the competition, Tuli Town Council bagged the third position under cleanest Urban Local Bodies (category 2) and first position under ULB with best Community Mobilisation.
Meanwhile, Mendenti Ward and Longlilenden Ward bagged the first and second prizes under the cleanest wards within Tuli Town under Mokokchung district.
