Tuli Paper Mill: JAC to hold indefinite protest from Aug

Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Workers Union and Pensioners Union, Nagaland Pulp & Paper Co, Ltd Tuli resolved to hold an indefinite protest/NH-61 road blockade at Tzudikong starting from August 12, 2022 till the workers are paid their pending salaries/wages with effect from August 2017 till date.
JAC also demanded that the retired employees and families of the deceased are paid with the terminal/pensionary benefits.
In a representation to chief minister, JAC president A. Kika Lenda and general secretary K. Imlitemjen Jamir expressed dismay that despite numerous appeals to the authorities concerned, their plea had been ignored. Therefore, after much deliberation, JAC said they have resolved to hold the protest till their demands were met.
During the protest, JAC said vehicular movement will be restricted in the area of protest (Tzudikong NH-61). According to JAC, the total amount due from August 2017 till December 2021 stood at around Rs. 27.33 crore (Pending salary & gratuity with terminal benefit of NPPCL Staff upto December 2021).
