Two-day workshop on basketry making for the students at Cherry Blossoms School, Lerie, Kohima was heldfrom March 16 -17. The programme was organized by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India in collaboration with Department of Art & Culture, Nagaland and Cherry Blossoms Society, Kohima.
The workshop was attended by students of Cherry Blossoms School and CBR Community based Rehabilitation PwDs along with 32 Pwds and eight escorts, respectively under the guidance of three experts namely Joyiti Gurung, Seli Tucker, and Purnima Kayina.
The raw materials were provided and children were asked to work on it to make their own designs according to their creativity.
On the first day, the children were taught how to measure and cut the plastic rope and later were given time and hand holding on how to start and making the basket.
