Inter-school u-16 boys cricket tournament organised by Wokha District Cricket Association (WDCA) under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) ended in a joint winner at Wokha local ground on Saturday.
As the final match was marred by rain, GHSS and Spring Dale School were declared the joint winners. Seven schools vied in the tournament which was conducted under the direction of NCA to promote and popularize the gentleman’s game in every schools and villages.
Libemo Jami, District Youth Resource Officer and DSO Wokha, in charge who graced the closing function as special invitee, congratulated the winners and lauded the NCA, WDCA and the school management in the district for encouraging students in the field of sports and inculcating positive mindset through physical education.
The organisers also informed that 30 probable players selected from the tournament will represent WDCA Xl in winter cricket challenge and u-16 inter-district. Tumben Jami from Spring Dale school was adjudged as the player of the tournament.
