Union minister interacts with various deptt officials in Kiphire

Union minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Parshottam Rupala accompanied by advisor of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation Economics and Statistics, L. Khumo, officials from Delhi and Kohima visited Kiphire district, to assess development projects and schemes implemented under “Aspirational District” programme on Friday.
According to a DIPR report, the union minister interacted with heads of offices and stakeholders of various departments in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC).
Addressing the meeting, DC Kiphire, T. Wati Aier informed that the district was currently ranked at the 9th position in the “Delta Ranking of the Aspiration Districts”. The union minister stated that the prime minister selected Kiphire district as “Aspirational District,” therefore, the people must know their living standards and how far the district was improving. Parshottam urged upon the departments to work harder so that more beneficiaries would be covered and assisted. He also advised the fishery officer to provide assistance as demanded by beneficiaries. At the programme, the union minister was also apprised on challenges and difficulties faced by the public of Kiphire due to bad road connectivity. A departmental presentation was delivered by district fishery officer and chief veterinary officer, wherein activities and how beneficiaries were receiving assistance through various schemes were highlighted.
Later, PowerPoint presentations were also delivered by the Health & Family Welfare department, PHED and Education department.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by ADC Kiphire, D. Robin.
