Walkathon against violence on children in Dimapur, Chumu

As part of children’s campaign, “Child Friendly Dimapur, AIDA” organised a walkathon in Dimapur and Chumoukedima, on the theme, “Protect children from violence” on December 7. The walkathon began at 7th Mile junction to DC complex Chumoukedima, with the participants of around 100 Child Rights Club members from different Child Rights Club along with the Child Rights Facilitators and animators holding placards to create awareness and to be an agent towards protecting children from all forms of violence.
Khriesakeduolie, a representative from Deputy Commissioner’s office assisted the children throughout the walkathon.
The walkathon was part of the Children’s campaign activities that was officially launched by Mhalo Humtsoe, NCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, on December 1. For this year, the children’s campaign will continue at various locations by organising various activities by the children till December 13, 2022.
Programme coordinator of Child Friendly Initiatives by AIDA in Dimapur and Chumoukedima, Garrol Lotha said that the walkathon was peaceful and silent to create awareness in the community and to reassert the duties and responsibilities.
