WCYO hosts leadership seminar

Western Chakhesang Youth Organization (WCYO) organised a leadership seminar on the theme “Leadership and Resilience for the youth in a globalised and competitive world” on November 12 at Western Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Mission Centre. According to WCYO president, Likalo Letro the seminar was graced by vice chairman, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd and former president Chakhesang Public Organization, Kekhwengulo Lea as resource person.
In his speech, Kekhwengulo spoke on the history of Chakhesang, where he stated that the head of the village was known as Thuvo/Mewo and to become Thuvo/Mewo, one must work hard and earn the respect of the villagers.
He also acknowledged of those leaders who stood firm despite the grim situation to form the Chakhesang Public Organisation, Chakhesang Students Union, Chakhesang Youth Front etc.
In this context, he challenged the youth of WCYO to follow their leaders’ footprints and fight for the future generations.
Further, Kekhwengulo recalled how he along with then Phek Deputy Commissioner late A.M. Gokhale introduced the Village Development Board (VDB) in Phek district which became the centre of Village Development activities in Nagaland.
Earlier, the meeting chaired by WCYO general secretary, Surhota Yhobubegan with an invocation by social and cultural secretary, Pokho Cükhamu.
Welcome address was delivered by WCYO president, Likalo Letro and joint secretary, Pretso Therie delivered a short speech on behalf of Western Chakhesang Hoho.
