A week-long International Faculty Development Program (FDP) on advances in Machine Learning, Image Processing, and Natural Language Processing organised by Nagaland University, department of Information Technology, School of Engineering and Technology (NU-SET) began on August16.
A press release by NU-SET, stated that the programme was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, NU, Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik.
In his speech, Patnaik appreciated the department of Information Technology for organizing such FDP for the first time in School of Engineering and Technology and urged the department of IT and CSE, NU to develop projects for digitizing functioning of NU in administration, academics, examinations, finance etc.
Convener of the FDP, Prof. Sujata Dash, introduced eminent resource persons and addressed the participants from India and abroad. She stressed that FDP marked a significant step toward harnessing potential of machine learning, image processing, and natural language processing, which have emerged as pivotal fields in today’s technological landscape. The programme was presided by dean, NU-SET, Prof. Vijay Kumar Vidyarthi, while Er. Teisovi Angami delivered words of gratitude.
