Woman killed in hit-and-run case; driver arrested

In a tragic incident, a woman pillion rider died after a Dumper truck hit the Scooty she was travelling in on Saturday near Central Jail area, 4th Mile.
According to PRO Dimapur police, they received information about the incident at around 12.19 in the afternoon. The scooty rider escaped unharmed while the pillion rider, who was rushed to CIHSR, was declared brought dead.
Though the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene, PRO said they were able to apprehend the accused driver within two hours after the incident. A case had been registered at Diphupar police station.
