Women vendors get interest free loan

To boost the women street vendors under “Uplifting Women Street Vendors Programme”, The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) Mon chapter handed interest free loan to 13 women vendors in Mon Town on Tuesday.
Project Coordinator (FPC&FPO) tEA, Chubazen Longkumer spoke on the importance and evolution of “Uplifting Women Street Vendor Programme” under tEA, which was started in 2017. The programme not only focuses on training the women but to equip them with skills training, market linkages, financial linkages with its main core focus for financial literacy and health care.
He added that Women street vendors play a significant role in the society as they act as a link between the farmers and the consumers. He further mentioned that the 13 women, who received interest free loan were the first and the torch bearer for the Mon chapter. Assistant Election Officer (AEO) Mon-cum-Governing Body Mon Vale College, Nathan Konyak, who was the special guest at the programme lauded tEA and Capri Global for their initiative.
The programme was held at the HPM Complex Mon Town.
