Work with oneness for society to prosper: Along

Minister for Tribal Affairs & Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along on May 27, urged upon the people to work with unity and oneness so that the society will prosper.
According to a DIPR report, Along was speaking at the inaugural programme of the multipurpose hall-cum-guest house at Okotso village, under Wokha district.
Delivering the inaugural address, the minister said Nagaland will prosper if a community was committed to not only oneself but also to the people.
Maintaining that attitude determined the lifestyle and amount of development in a community, Along said people would never march forward if they did not change their attitude.
Government is committed in bringing things in the right trajectory to bring equal share of development in every sector, he stated.
He also said that people should do their part by contributing instead of criticising.
In this regard, he asked the people to extend support to the government and to pray for the wisdom and knowledge of the leaders.
While congratulating his additional secretary, Nchumbemo Lotha for the initiative in bringing the project into reality, Along urged him to come up with innovative ideas involving the community for common good.
Meanwhile, minister for Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan said the day was a momentous occasion, especially for Okotso village as this was the second inauguration during his tenure.
He acknowledged the department of Tribal Affairs for the support and also appealed to the people of the village to make good use of the building.
The programme was chaired by secretary, Tribal Affairs department, Kenilo Apon, dedicatory prayer was offered by Okotso Baptist Church pastor, Rev. O. Yibomo Ngullie and vote of thanks was proposed by additional secretary, Tribal Affairs department, Nchumbemo Lotha.

Govt Polytechnic Doyang inaugurated in Wokha

Architecture Assistantship Government Polytechnic Doyang, Wokha was jointly inaugurated by minister for Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along and advisor to CM for Technical Education & Election Medo Yhokha on May 27, at Doyang, Wokha.
According to a DIPR report, minister for Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, while inaugurating the institution lauded the initiative of the chief minister for successfully creating post for the three polytechnic institutions in the state and making it functional.
He said that being a newly created institution, requirements such as water connectivity, electricity and other basic things should be taken care of.
On requirement of girls’ hostel, the minister assured to take up the matter and ensure that construction of the girls’ hostel be taken up at the earliest.
He however he said no land ownership issue should come up as this issue “has being creating huge hindrance for the government and the department” to bring any kind of development.
In this regard, appealed to the landowners and people to leave it to the wisdom and freedom of the department as the technicality and requirements were best known by the department.
Meanwhile, advisor to CM for Technical Education & Election, Medo Yhokha said there might be some lapses initially, but assured the people that everything would be put in place very shortly.
To take the institution forward, he appealed to the people to take responsibility as the custodian of the institution so that the institution could provide quality and standard education.
In order to make the institution a vibrant one, Yhokha said the people should cooperate with the faculty and the department.
Also speaking at the programme, advisor for Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan on behalf of the area people and Wokha district acknowledged the state government for establishing the institution in Wokha.
Pointing out that a there were challenges ahead, Yanthan urged upon the people to think in terms of contributing for the institution to make it prosper.
He also appealed to the department to incorporate new and viable courses in the coming years in order to provide more avenues to the youth.
Delivering the welcome address, GPD Wokha principal, Er. Julia Achumi said the diploma course will start functioning from academic session July 2022 where candidates who have appeared HSLC/HSSLC final examination 2022 would be eligible to apply for diploma entrance examination.
She informed that intake seat for Architecture Assistantship would be only 15 seats for the current academic year 2022.
