Workshop on COVID appropriate behaviour and immunisation

A workshop and awareness programme on “COVID appropriate behaviour and routine immunization” was organised by Child Friendly Dimapur, ANAM Integrated Development Association (AIDA) in collaboration with Assam Don Bosco University with technical support from UNICEF Assam on July 23 at the Conference Hall, AIDA.
In a press release, AIDA informed that special guest, SBC consultant, UNICEF Nagaland, Dr. Pangjung Pongen spoke on the importance of organising awareness programmes and the need for strengthening social mobilisation through engagement with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), faith-based organisation and academic institutions.
Resource person, member of Nagaland Health Project (NHP) for Biomedical Waste Management, staff nurse at District Hospital Dimapur, Easter Mukho briefed the participants on COVID appropriate behaviours and routine immunization (pre and post-natal care, typhoid, rabies, hepatitis B, tetanus toxoid, MMR, etc) with illustrations. Sharing her experience while working closely with patients, especially during the pandemic, Easter said she had witnessed a number of deaths because of “casual and slapdash behaviours”.
The workshop was attended by youth leaders, religious leaders and chairman, vice-chairman and women leaders from different localities.
