Workshop on documenting cultural heritage

Department of Art and Culture in collaboration with the Centre for Naga Tribal Languages, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema organized a three-day workshop on “Documenting and Developing Cultural Heritage: Methodological Approaches” from September 7- 9.
According to DIPR report, the inaugural session was held at Nagaland University in the presence of the Pro Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Kohima Prof. N Venuh, director Department of Art & Culture, Adela Moa, delegates and participants from directorate of Art & Culture and research scholars.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Imlienla Imchen, Faculty and Co-coordinator, CNTLS, who welcomed the gathering.
Yanbeni Yanthan, faculty and coordinator of the workshop spoke on the need for the development of cultural heritage. It was followed by an address by Adela Moa, director and head, Directorate of Art and Culture, who dwelled on the importance of holding such workshop to equip the officers of the department with the necessary information and skills that can be used in their respective fields.
Guest of honour, Prof. N Venuh said that given the contemporary scenario where Naga society is changing at a rapid pace, the need to have such workshop was the need of the hour.
