Workshop on handling, rehabilitation of wildlife

A two-day workshop on “safe handling, care and rehabilitation of wildlife” held at Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP) Rangapahar concluded on January 31 with resource persons from Wildlife Conservation Society India (WCS-India).
A press release by NZP Rangapahar informed that the WCS representatives were Anirbhan Chaudhuri, Rishik Dutta Gupta, Vikram hoshing, Trishanti Paul and Gargi Sharma.
NZP said the workshop was divided into three classroom sessions wherein the participants were given in-depth knowledge about the basics of handling wildlife, their care and rehabilitation with power point presentations.
In the afternoon sessions, field exposures to animal enclosures were carried out wherein the participants were given hands-on experience. The participants were the animal keepers of NZP, staffs from crime branch of wildlife Dimapur and Dimapur division. The workshop concluded with a valedictory note by NZP director, Dr. C. Zupeni Tsanglai with the distribution of certificates.
