DIMAPUR: To mark World Health Day 2022, Eden Medical Centre (EMC) and office of the chief medical officer (CMO) organised various activities on the theme, “Our planet, our health” on April 7.
EMC: Eden Medical Centre organised a series of events over the week including making paper bags out of used and waste papers, newspapers to be used in the Pharmacy in place of plastic bags, poster making competition among the children of the Hospital staff in order to create an environment consciousness among them.
A waste management competition among the staff was also conducted to encourage the staff to recycle.
Later, cleaning of the hospital campus was also carried out.
During the closing function on April 7, CMO Dimapur, Dr. I. Moatemjen stressed on the importance of caring for the environment for people and for future generations.
The event was co-sponsored by Sun Pharma Company and Macleods Pharma Company.
The administration and staff of EMC expressed their commitment to reimagine a world where clean air, water and food were available for everyone.
Mokokchung: World Health Day was observed at all health units across Mokokchung district.
In a press release, DPMU Mokokchung informed that during the programme, the community and school children were sensitised on living a healthy lifestyle, hygiene, hand washing etiquette,
environmental issues, climate change and its impact on health across schools in the district.
Later, a cleanliness drive was also conducted in and around the health centres along with tree and flower plantation which saw participation of the community and healthcare workers.
