World Sunday School Day celebrated across Nagaland

With the rest of the world, churches in Nagaland on Sunday celebrated World Sunday School, through various programmes and activities.
It may be mentioned that the first Sunday of the month of November is celebrated as World Sunday School Day throughout the world.
CBCMHK: Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill (CBCMH) Kohima, Sunday School department celebrated World Sunday School Day cum Graduation Day for Knight Templars batch of 2022, in the church. A total of 64 Sunday school children graduated to the youth department on the occasion.
A press release by the church informed that addressing the graduating children, CBCMHK Associate Pastor Thujoneyi Veswüh spoke on “reflecting the beauty of Jesus Christ” as young people. He said the society was in need of men and women who would be bold to say that he/she was not ashamed of following Christ and someone who was willing to live in integrity and holiness.
He regretted that the culture of conversing with one another in “golden” words have become rare and that today the young people prefer speaking to one another in “slang” words. As Christians, Pastor Thujoneyi said young people should reflect beauty of Christ in faith, love, speech, and action.
He also advised graduating students to live in purity saying that purity in body, mind, and heart was important and added that one can live a life of purity only when they have the word of God.
Knight Templars teacher, Akhale Khamo said the teachers have tried to prepare the graduating children to become youth members. Therefore, she requested youth department to welcome and mentor them to become good members of the church.
NBCCT: Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima Town (NBCCT) celebrated World Sunday School Day under the theme, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength (Deut. 6:5)”.
In a message, speaker of the service, Association of the Gorkha Baptist churches Nagaland, women secretary, Beena Thapa encouraged the Sunday school students to be more vigil in their life journey and to be determined and put God first in whatever they do. Various items like Bible memory, singing dancing etc. were presented by the students during the celebration.
KBC: Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) celebrated World Sunday School Day under the theme, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” with KBC senior pastor, Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo as the speaker.
On the occasion, special performances were presented by Sunday School teachers, intermediate, junior and beginner class while superintendent, KBC Sunday School, Belinda Kiewhuo presented a report. An award was also given to acknowledge regular students and “faithful tithes giver”. The programme was led KBC pastor, Neibalie Kiewhuo.
Meanwhile, World Sunday School Day was also celebrated at Koinonia Prayer Centre with KBC evangelist, Akho Hibo as the speaker. The service was led by KBC evangelist, Neilhou Sopfünuo and special presentations was presented by the Sunday School students.
