YBC celebrates 125 years of Christianity

Yikhum Baptist Church celebrated its quasquicentennial-125 years of Christianity under the theme, “Come Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20)at Yikhum Baptist Church under Wokha district on Saturday.


On the first day of the celebration, former executive secretary LBCA Rev John Ovung unveiled and dedicated the jubilee monolith while Rev.Achumo Kithan, pastor Tchuphyangza Baptist Ekhumkho inaugurated the jubilee convention hall.


Rev John Ovung delivered sermon at the opening session referring from the Bible 1John:18, Revelations 22:20 and Luke 1:33 about God Faithfulness and Blessing.
Rev. Ovung challenged the believers to be holy and put their faith in God and also called upon the congregation to be thankful, exalt and glorify His faithfulness as they celebrate 125 years.

Joint Director Department of Evaluation, Z.Renchamo Odyuo delivered jubilee greetings.
The opening programme witnessed special presentation by jubilee choir and women folks, while jubilee dedicatory prayer was delivered by Rev.Ellis pastor UBC Doyang and welcome address by pastor YBC Zanbemo Kithan.


The event also witnessed silent prayer in honour of the departed soul, who proclaimed the Gospel of God in the village of Yikhum and the believers who were involved in YBC.


A short drama on how Nkhao Jungi, the first person who respond God’s called and converted into Christian and his missionary in the village was also presented. The Quasqui-Centennial celebration would be held from September 30 to October 2.
