Accusing the ruling Congress for toying with the issue of statehood for Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao, youth Congress president of Karbi Anglong,Bijoy Teron has resigned from the post of border development board of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuesday. However, he has not resigned from the party post.
Teron who is also the chief convener of the Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State (JACAS) criticized the parent political organization and other political parties for taking political mileage from the issue.
“Various political parties have perused the issue from time to time without achieving any result, general people of this place has been cheated so far, even this time the issue has been taken up just before election, some parties already benefitted from the matter, the issue should be unravel and resolved once for all, provision for autonomous state or the article 244(A) is already incorporated in the constitution why not implement it” Bijoi Teron told media at his residence.
