Advisor of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the Medziphema Town Council (MTC) office at the City Centre, Medziphema on May 23.
According to DIPR report, Zhaleo Rio suggested that the building should be utilized and generate revenue for the Medziphema sub-division. He said the city centre was a first of its kind in the state and Town Council should utilize it to the optimum. Zhaleo also emphasized that City Centre Medziphema will serve all tribes under Medziphema Town Corporation and urged them to maintain the building and set a good example for all.
He reminded them of Chief Minister Micro-financing for start-up loan businesses for youths. Further, Zhaleo also informed the gathering on his dream project of building a Health Centre/Ayush hospital and for which he sought cooperation and support of the public.
ADC & Administrator, Medziphema Imsongmeren explained the concept of the Medziphema Town Council office and how Zhaleo Rio conceptualized the City Centre. He gave a brief report on the historical establishment of MTC. Short speeches were delivered by Addl Director & HOD, Municipal Affairs Department Solesul Tholre, and Miathou Krose, vice president, CEB, NDPP. Vote of thanks was delivered by SDO (C) Medziphema, Selemla. The programme began with an invocation Rev. Zhabu Terhuja, Pastor Town Baptist Church ‘A’ Medziphema Town.
