India showcases innovation and investment potential: Modi at Bharat Innovates 2026

NICE/NEW DELHI, JUN 14 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday underscored India’s growing stature as a global hub for innovation, technology, and manufacturing, inviting international investors to collaborate with India in shaping the next chapter of global progress. Speaking at the Bharat Innovates 2026 summit in Nice, France, Modi highlighted the country’s strong foundation of talent, scale, stability, and reforms as key drivers of growth.
India as a global innovation destination
Addressing venture capital leaders and investors, PM Modi said India has emerged as one of the world’s most attractive destinations for investment and innovation. He emphasized that the country’s growth is powered by “talent, scale, stability and reform,” making it a natural partner for global innovators.
He noted that the current decade is defined by both disruption and development, with challenges such as conflicts and climate change creating new opportunities for innovation. Modi identified artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, space technologies, and advanced materials as transformative fields that will shape humanity’s future.
“The world today is looking for technologies that are trusted, inclusive, human-centric and focused on global good,” he remarked, stressing India’s priority of “technology for humanity.”
Reform momentum and startup ecosystem
In his address, PM Modi assured investors that India’s reform momentum will continue unabated. He pointed to the country’s emergence as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, built over the past 12 years through initiatives such as Startup India, patent filings, incubation networks, and policy support.
“The number of startups in India will continue to grow as the country remains committed to reforms and innovation-driven development,” he said, inviting global innovators to collaborate with India’s young talent in developing solutions for global challenges.
Modi highlighted that India’s startup ecosystem is not only expanding but also producing innovations with the potential to benefit humanity at large. “Come, collaborate with India and develop technological solutions for the world,” he urged.
Technology for humanity
The Prime Minister reiterated that India’s digital revolution has been built on human-centric innovation and digital public infrastructure. He described technological revolutions as opportunities that also bring responsibilities, calling for innovation that is inclusive and globally beneficial.
He emphasized that India’s approach to technology is rooted in trust and inclusivity, aligning with the global demand for responsible innovation.
India–France partnership
Modi also underlined the special partnership between India and France, describing it as a relationship built on “connection, conviction, innovation, inspiration, shared values and a common vision for the future.”
He noted that the two nations have jointly launched initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance and dialogues on artificial intelligence, while strengthening cooperation across security and sustainability. “On the foundation of this very relationship, we have together launched new initiatives, given direction to new ideas, and made every possible effort to find solutions to global challenges,” Modi said.
