Indian intel agencies indulging in propaganda: NSCN (I-M)

NSCN (I-M) has accused the Indian intelligence agencies of initiating a propaganda against the organisation. In a statement issued through its MIP, NSCN (I-M) alleged that while the Central government was allegedly resorting to a proxy war with the well-established nexus involving the KNA (B), PDF and Assam Rifles (AR), a highly orchestrated social media warfare was being explored by Indian intelligence agencies using the tribal card to create fissure within the organisation, desperate to setting on fire the tribal sentiment.

According to NSCN (I-M), the modus operandi was to use fictitious Naga names belonging to certain tribes and writing provocative articles. It claimed of recently having come across an article “Muivah is a problem, not the solution,” which was followed by a counter-article “Rendering political education to Zavisituo Angami.”

Pointing out that a fictitious Tangkhul name was used as the author of the article, NSCN (I-M) said what really caught the eyes was that names of revered Naga national leaders AZ Phizo and Th Muivah were used to create rift along tribal lines between the Angamis and the Tangkhuls.

Alleging that the articles were made viral in social media platforms, the organisation said the irony was “we could see through the carefully considered social media strategy with the filthiest purposes, the most disgusting kind of propaganda that played with the sanctity of Naga national leaders.”

NSCN (I-M) asserted that Phizo and Muivah had their respective places in the history of Naga political struggle, adding that it was because of their tireless works that the world came to know better about the political rights and identity of the Nagas as a people and as a nation.

NSCN (I-M) claimed that it was Phizo who led the Nagas from the front and declared Naga independence and conducted Naga plebiscite to reaffirm the sovereign will of the Naga people to live as an independent sovereign nation.

Stressing that Naga people, young and old, must appreciate and give due honour and respect to “uncle Phizo” for what he had done for the Nagas and their righteous cause at the right time, the organisation said he had dedicated his entire life bearing the unbearable burden living in exile in London till his last breath.

“Had there been no Phizo who had done so much for the political cause of the Nagas, the political status of the Nagas today would have been a different story today,” it pointed out.
Further, NSCN (I-M) recalled that it was Muivah who came into the Naga political scene and had played his role in the Naga political movement with tireless commitment to the political goals laid down by Phizo, working with dedication, persistence and focus.

Asserting that it was under his firebrand revolutionary leadership that the political status of the Naga nation with sovereign rights was given a new meaning by the Central government after the historic Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015, NSCN (I-M) said the political significance of the agreement pointed to the recognition of Naga independence declaration on August 14, 1947 and the Naga plebiscite of May 16, 1951 to reaffirm the Naga independence as the sovereign will of the Naga people.

All said and done, NSCN (I-M) asserted that Nagas would not be naïve enough to be carried away by the misleading communal divisive propaganda waged by Indian intelligence agencies to erode the organisation.
