Individuals, organisations extend Christmas greetings

Individuals and various organisations have extended Christmas and New Year greetings to the citizens of Nagaland. 

Y. Patton: Deputy CM and BLP leader, Y. Patton in a greetings message said that during the Yuletide “we should all remember the Prince of Peace, whose birth gave us a blessed assurance and the Gospel of Love”. He also expressed that despite the shadows of COVID-19 pandemic, the year had been relatively peaceful for the state, whereby people of Nagaland needed to thank God for His manifold blessings and protection. Patton further appealed to the people to celebrate the wonderful season in the true spirit of love, peace and forgiveness. On behalf of the state BJP legislatures, he also wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2021.
NTUCT: Naga Tribal union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) in a greetings by president, Lhousito Khro and general secretary, Longshi Kikon stated that this joyous celebration is a time to revitalize for peace and unity and also receive joy and happiness. NTUCT also appealed to the general public to have maximum restrain from any rush and drunken driving, violence and any disturbances of peaceful atmosphere. NTUCT further extended that the New Year 2021 would usher in peace and prosperity to each and everyone.
NSCN (I-M): NSCN (I-M) through its MIP stated that it was pleased at the Christmas greetings send by the Quaker Group as they continue to stand by the Naga people through ceaseless prayers. NSCN (I-M) stated that it place high value “to your concern and integrity towards the Naga political turmoil where you want to see that peace is established through mutual handling of the Indo-Naga political talks.” NSCN further wished Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 
‘Gen. (retd)’ Viyalie Metha: Federal government of Nagaland (FGN) ‘gen (retd)’ Viyalie Metha, kedahge in a greetings message prayed that as “we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ who was send to redeem us from our sins” the sick and burdened would receive healing and joy and proclaim the glory of God. The kedahge stated that, the year 2020 brought a lot of surprises where the COVID brought the entire world to its knees, but it also forced people to see the truth that “our lives are in God’s hands and we are his creation.” Adding that it also forced “us to harness all our resilience and mental strength not to give up”, the kedahge also thanked all the health care workers and front liners around the world who worked tirelessly to keep people safe. He further prayed that God bless them abundantly.
NDPP: NDPP media & communication committee in a greetings stated that, this year has been a very challenging year for humanity, but added that, “yet, let us all continue to give praise, glory and honour to His holy name and spread the message of peace, joy and love.” NDPP wished the people of Nagaland a very happy and blessed Christmas. 
NPF minority wing: Naga Peoples Front (NPF) minority wing in a greetings by president Bishnu Bhattacharjee stated that, the birthday of Lord Jesus Christ is to be celebrated with joy and enthusiasm with the message of love, peace, tolerance, harmony, health, satisfaction, and success for every individual and families in the coming year.
DBS: Dimapur Bangali Samaj (DBS) in a greeting by president adv. K. K. Paul expressed hope that this festival bring about peace and mutual understanding, fellow-feeling and love and kindness amongst all. DBS also wished everyone a very happy and prosperous 2021 and may all sorrows, sufferings and negativity come to an end and the New Year brings blessings to all.
