In view of the general election, DCs, DEOs and others have laid out information to all concerned through DIPR.
Control Room number for Kohima district: Kohima EAC (sadar) and officer-in-charge, control room, Wangan has informed that a control room has been set up at DC & DEO Office, Kohima for any query and complaints under Kohima district. One may call the following landline phone numbers at 0370-2291254, 0370-2291250, 0370-2291146 and 0370-2291136 for any query and complaints.
General Observer for Thonoknyu: MP, Rajesh Kumar Kaul has been deputed as the general observer for 57 A/C, Thonoknyu, Tuensang district. For any queries or information, he can be contacted at 8974232830/9402053767.
Returning officer, 37 Tyui and 38 Wokha A/C notifies: With regard to the general election and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), returning officer for 37 Tyui and 38 Wokha assembly constituencies has informed all concerned that the scrutiny of form 17A and other relevant documents will be done on February 28 as per the following schedule – Customary court, office of the deputy commissioner, Wokha, 37-Tyui A/C –11 a.m and 38-Wokha A/C –1:30 a.m.
All the candidates of 37-Tyui and 38-Wokha A/Cs have been informed to take note of the date, venue and time for the scrutiny.
The RO has further notified that the candidates themselves or their election agents may be present at the time of the scrutiny.
Meanwhile, if a candidate is represented by their election agent, the election agent should come with a copy of his appointment in form 8.
Security personnel deployed in Bhandari: Security personnel have been deployed to all 76 polling stations under 40-Bhandari A/C, along with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) on February 26 for the voting day of the upcoming assembly elections.
ADC & RO, 40-Bhandari A/C, Tiameren Chang assisted by SDPO Bhandari, Lanu Aier supervised the deployment.
Polling materials disbursed for Kohima district: Polling officials reached the office of DC & DEO, Kohima on February 26 to collect their polling materials/EVMs for the ensuing election.
DIPR reported that there were a total of 183 polling parties including nine all women polling parties assigned to 183 polling stations besides 37 polling parties including five women polling parties as reserve teams under Kohima district.
Polling officials deployed for Pughoboto: Presiding officers and polling personnel with election machineries have been deployed to all the 33 polling stations in 24 villages under 13-Pughoboto A/C on February 26.
Altogether, seven women polling official groups have been detailed in seven polling stations for the constituency. For live webcasting, seven polling stations have been earmarked, namely 1-Kitami, 5-Awohumi, 11-Laza Iquqa, 17-Chishilimi, 21-Ghathashi, 22-Laza Iyinu, and 24-Asukiqa.
Meanwhile, five sector commanders and eight micro observers have also been sent to different locations to oversee the election process on the polling day. General observer, Mahesh I. Patel also distributed the EVMs, VVPAT and other essential materials.
Polling parties sent off at Longleng: All polling parties along with adequate security force for 108 polling stations under 49 A/C Tamlu and 50 A/C Longleng were sent off successfully from Longleng district headquarter on February 26 to conduct the general election.
It may be noted that out of the total 108 polling stations in the district, 47 polling stations fall under 49 A/C Tamlu while 61 fall under 50 A/C Longleng. The polling personnel include 18 women polling parties, ten under 49 A/C Tamlu and eight under 50 A/C Longleng.
Meanwhile, till the filing of this report, no unpleasant incidents were reported from any of the polling parties proceeding to their respective polling station as confirm from the control room, DC & DEO office Longleng.
