Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed the residents under its jurisdiction that PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana launched by the Government of India in February 2024, will be implemented until FY 2026-27.
KMC Chief Executive Officer, T. Lanusenla Longkumer informed that the scheme aims to increase the share of rooftop solar capacity and empower households to generate their own electricity.
Intended applicants can apply directly for a subsidy for solar panel installation through the national portal dedicated to the scheme (PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana).
