INIMC issues mandatory registration notice for ISM practitioners

DIMAPUR: Interim Nagaland Indian Medicine Council (INIMC) has notified that all practitioners of Indian System of Medicine (ISM) — including BAMS, BUMS, BSMS and BSRMS — practicing in Nagaland must mandatorily register with the council.
In pursuance of directives from the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, Board of Ethics and Registration, New Delhi, INIMC stated that practitioners currently registered under other state councils or boards are required to complete registration with INIMC between June 15 and December 15, 2026.
The council cautioned that failure to comply within the stipulated period would be deemed a violation of the NCISM Act and related regulations, attracting legal, disciplinary and penal action.
It further directed that ISM practitioners from outside Nagaland entering the state for clinical practice, consultations, CME programmes, workshops, medical camps, academic activities or hospital attachments must obtain transit registration or temporary permission from INIMC prior to undertaking such engagements. INIMC also informed that its office will remain functional for registration of newly qualified graduates of ISM and for all matters related to professional and regulatory compliance. For further information, practitioners may contact Dr. Tiakaba Jamir, Registrar, at 9436010174, or Dr. Khonuo Mary, Deputy Registrar cum Treasurer, at 9436404024, or email nagalandimc@gmail.com.
