Institutions declared tobacco free

National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) team Peren district under the aegis of chief medical office has been successful in collaborating with various schools in Peren district and with their support has enabled two more schools and one college to be declared as tobacco free status in Peren district.

A press release from CMO office, Peren district media officer Pezanguno Celine Secii stated that Ibaung Thou Memorial School Jalukie town was declared tobacco free school on September 24, Heraka Vidhyabharati School B Jalukie on September 26, followed by St Xavier College Jalukie on September 30. 

The educational institutions have pledged to continue the campaign of tobacco free environment and show their support towards healthy lifestyle. This programme is under COPTA act wherein 100 meter yards within the school campus is to remain tobacco free.
