Institutions host orientation and training programs for students and teachers

Educational institutions across Nagaland held seminars and orientation programs to promote career awareness and welcome new students.
SSUC organises career guidance program
Sangtam Students’ Union, Chümoukedima (CCUS), conducted a one-day career guidance program on July 12 at Sangtam Baptist Lithro under the theme “Anchored in Purpose, Driven by Dreams.” Resource persons included entrepreneur Longtili C. Sangtam and Konchem Thsingvi, Assistant Professor at Yingli College, Longleng.
Longtili spoke about discovering one’s strength before choosing a career path and offered mentorship in entrepreneurship. Thsingvi highlighted academic planning, study techniques, and guidance for higher education and competitive exams. Union president Tsapili said the program helped students gain clarity and motivation towards their career goals.
SJHSS, Viswema conducts teachers’ seminar
St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Viswema, organised a seminar on “Counselling Skills for Teachers and How to Be an Effective Teacher.” Resource persons included Kehelingle Ramlia, Director and Psychotherapist, Ramzie School, and Rev. Fr. C. Joseph, Counsellor, St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama. Speakers emphasised empathy, strong classroom management, and positive teacher-student engagement.
Sao Chang College holds orientation programme
Sao Chang College, Tuensang held its orientation programme for 1st Semester B.A. and B.Sc. students. Vice Principal Dr. T. Lal Veda Chandra Kumar spoke on college rules and academics. Faculty members introduced NEP 2020, FYUGP, and student support systems. Principal Dr. Lanurenla gave the welcome address. The session was chaired by Assistant Professor Y. Toninaro Chongpho.
Tetso College celebrates Salvete Day
Tetso College celebrated Salvete Freshers’ Day 2025, welcoming first semester students. Special guest Sashi Wapang Lanu, Additional Commissioner, CGST Dimapur, encouraged students to explore careers beyond government jobs. Principal Dr. Hewasa L. Khing highlighted college achievements and urged students to embrace diverse opportunities. Freshers’ representative Jiya Tosniwal shared reflections on starting college life. Titles were awarded to outstanding students in categories like Mr. and Miss Fresher, Ethnic Wear, Congeniality, and Miss Multimedia.
