An Inter College Literary Festival & Advent Christmas Celebrations was held at O.J.C Hall Bailey Baptist College Wokha on December 14 by District Administration Wokha in collaboration with Bailey Baptist College & Mt. Tiyi College Wokha.
According to DIPR, Lanusenla Longkumer, SDO (C) Wokha, was the Special Guest of the event who spoke on issues and challenges that confront Naga society and women in general. She urged youngsters to develop a sense of empathy and sensibility while striving towards an egalitarian social order as emerging intellectuals and leaders of the next generation. She also exhorted girl students to make the best use of opportunities for their own empowerment and betterment. Highlights of the event were a debate on “BBBP-Will it help eradicate the orthodox mindset Towards the Female Child?”, Essay Competition on “BBBP: Its Effective in Curbing Dangerous Social Issues” and Art Competition on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
Tumben P. Tsanglao, EAC (HQ) Wokha, gave away the cash prizes with citations to the winners, while encouraging and urging the students and participants in the event to strive for excellence in life.
Penthungo Ngullie, principal i/c Bailey Baptist College, gave some concluding remarks after a session of fellowship with music and various items.
