People’s Forum for Peace (PFP) Nagaland under the aegis of Peace Channel organised an interfaith meeting to pray and discuss about the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks in the hope for a fruitful and positive solution at NEISSR hall, Dimapur on October 31.
A press release from Peace Channel stated that, Rev. A. Taku Longkumer, chairman of PFP Nagaland, talked about the need for God’s intervention in order to achieve peace and harmony in the state. Rev R.P Murry chairman of Dimapur Christian Forum said it was “our”duty and responsibility to unite and pray together with people of different religious beliefs so that prayers will be heard and answered and peace prevails in the state.
Alok Pareek talked about seeking peace in positivity and talked to bring an impact among the community.
Muzaibur Rehman representative of the Muslim community emphasized that prayer is a must and one should never stop praying for long lasting peace in the state and communities.
Ajay Sethi, general secy PFP Nagaland and representative of Jain community said everyone believes in peace and that is why people were all gathering to pray for nation.
Rajesh Chowdhary representative of the Buddhist community said peace comes from within, where leadership is one of the important aspect making people to believe their capabilities in leading the people to the right path.
Chenithung Humtsoe representative of NGOs Forum said that it was a positive vibe for the community to come and stand in unity towards promoting peace and harmony like today.
Caroline Leisan from Catholic women association said problems are everywhere, and leaders, have to play a vital role in guiding and bringing peace in the society inclusive of women with an equal footage.
Dr. Deben Sharma asst. prof of NEISSR said that everyone should stand in solidarity with the people of the region and hope for a holistic peace in the coming days.
Dr.Fr. C.P. Anto director and principal of Peace Channel and NEISSR concluded the session by thanking the religious leaders for being part of inter-religious & ecumenical and also stressed on the mission of making Nagaland the happiest and most peaceful state by 2030.

A total of 32 participants attended the programme.
