An interactive session on “waste management & entrepreneurship development” was organised by Science and Technology Intervention in North Eastern Region-Technology Facilitation Centre (STINER-TFC) School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD) Nagaland University (NU) on October 26 at PG Exam Hall, SASRD, Medziphema.
In a press release, SASRD, Medziphema stated that the programme was conceptualised to establish the value of waste and its conversion into useful resources.
Resource person, MD, Rhino Machines Pvt. Ltd, Anand, Gujarat, Manish Kothari emphasised on how recycling/reusing waste saved on cost or reduce expenses for disposal, and lessen the need to extract resources from nature. He urged upon the participants to have a positive attitude towards the issue of waste segregation.
Kothari also sensitised the participants on entrepreneurship and how it plays a vital role for attaining a sustainable economy in future. He stressed that to be an entrepreneur, inspiration has to come from within. The programme was chaired by PI, STINER-TFC, SASRD, NU, professor Akali Sema, welcome address was delivered by dean, SASRD, NU, professor L. Daiho and vote of thanks by PA, STINER-TFC, Rokosieno Zao. A total of 91 students from NU SASRD, Medziphema participated in the interactive session.
