International Master Mrityunjoy Roy leads taekwondo seminar in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, NOV 2 (NPN)

The Nagaland Taekwondo Federation hosted a two-day masterclass led by renowned International Master Mrityunjoy Roy, 7th Dan Black Belt in World Taekwondo (WT) Jidokwan and Director of the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA), India. The seminar, held on November 1 and 2, provided advanced training to instructors and students from across Dimapur and Chumoukedima districts.
On the first day, approximately 70 participants gathered at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence in Sovima for an intensive session focused on aerobic exercises, punching and kicking techniques, and self-defense. The seminar drew attendees from various schools and clubs, offering a rare opportunity to learn directly from Master Roy’s extensive experience in martial arts.
The following day, Master Roy conducted an exclusive seminar for senior instructors at the Taekwondo Dojang at Ikishe Village. This advanced session covered sparring techniques, poomsae, self-defense strategies and specialized training methods tailored for high-level practitioners.
Adding to the event’s significance, chief instructor of the Nagaland Taekwondo Federation, 7th Dan WT Jidokwan and Member of the International Taekwondo Hall of Fame, Israel G Xuivi, was also present during the seminar.
The masterclass was widely appreciated by participants and organizers alike, reinforcing the federation’s commitment to elevating the standard of taekwondo training in the region through expert-led initiatives.
