Drawing attention to allegations by Rev. Dr. Motso Ngullie, former vice chancellor of The Global Open University (TGOU), that he was scammed by one Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi, Naga People’s Front (NPF) has cautioned people to be aware of the “clandestine tactics of RSS policies”, which it claimed has “penetrated into the Christian majority Nagaland.”
NPF through its press bureau, said erstwhile The Global Open University, now been renamed as “International University” was said to be founded by Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi.
NPF claimed that the nomenclature “International University” was apparently a derivation from “World Hindu University”, where the word “International” was used instead “World” by dropping “Hindu”, in order to try and win over non-Hindus.
NPF said the International University even has a library named after RSS founder, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. Further, NPF said Dr. Trivedi was found on YouTube profoundly promoting the Vishwa Hindu Vidyapeeth (World Hindu University) and the need of such Universities in order to propagate the Hindu thoughts and philosophies.
NPF said it was disturbed by allegations against Dr. Trivedi and “curious” with his intention of setting up educational institutes in Nagaland. NPF reiterated that it respected all religions and acknowledged their faith and beliefs since everyone was free to practice their beliefs. However, NPF, said it saw a need to raise concerns when the red line was crossed on certain cases, clandestinely, at the cost of others.
The party said it appeared that Dr. Trivedi seemed to be popularizing Vishwa Hindu Vidyapeeth (World Hindu University) all over the world and expressed surprise how he (Dr. Trivedi) was boldly pursing the objective and the fact that he was “backed and protected by higher ups.”
NPF reminded that attempts to install ‘Gau Dhwaj’ (cow flag) in Kohima, by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Maharaj of Jyotirmath on September 28, 2024 was thwarted through the people’s voice.
In this regard, the NPF has called for a united Naga voice “to stand against these forces”, trying to destroy the secular fabric of India by inculcating an extremist and dangerous ideologies on Nagas.
NPF said Rev. Ngullie had claimed that when a formal complaint was lodged, the then governor also remarked that the scamming was a serious issue that needed to be looked into.
However, NPF said the issue seemed to be kept in a cold storage thus far. Subsequently, the headquarters of the university has now shifted from the original location at Wokha to Chümoukedima, it added.
