A joint initiative by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Marcofed Ltd. under the Digital Infrastructure Support Program for strengthening policing was held at the IGP (INT) Conference Hall on Friday.
Director General of Police (DGP) Nagaland, Rupin Sharma (IPS), expressed gratitude for the support and said the initiative would benefit INT departments across the state.
He said that the digital support would lead to better investigations, definite improvements, and enhanced services. While acknowledging the usefulness of computers, he also stressed the need for cautious use and hoped for continued support from IOC and Marcofed Ltd.
Rupin also shared that Nagaland Police currently operates two petrol pumps generating revenue and proposed opening more outlets in remote areas to benefit the force. He urged IOC to consider the proposal in future plans.
IOC GM (RS), Anshu Moudgil, said Indian Oil is the highest taxpayer in the state and has a wide service network.
He described the CSR initiative as a beginning, with more support to follow, and highlighted the company’s history.
Chairman of Marcofed Ltd., Dr. M. Chuba Ao, spoke on Marcofed’s background and its CSR projects. IGP (INT), Rothihu Tetseo, informed that IOC and Marcofed Ltd., in collaboration with the state government, had provided 10 computer sets to the department.
In her concluding remarks, Dy. Superintendent of Police (Hqr), Kevizasinuo Lucy Yhome, thanked IOC and Marcofed Ltd. for their generous support. She said the contribution had strengthened operational capabilities, especially in remote districts, by improving access to technology and enhancing intelligence and administrative functions.
She added that the gesture reflects a strong commitment to public service and national security, and expressed hope for continued collaboration.
