IPPI workshop held at CMO office, Kiphire

Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) workshop was held at CMO office Kiphire on January 14, with the objective to sensitize the health workers on the importance of polio eradication and to smoothly carry out the programme in the district.
In a press release, CMO office Kiphire district media officer-Imnasenla Pongener stated that first round of IPPI would be conducted on January 17 and second round on February 21, where 10,365 children fall under the target beneficiaries of 0-5 years. During the drive, the first day would cater to administering polio drops through booth activities and the following two days would focus on house to house visitation by the medical team to ensure that no child was missed.
It further added that the immunization drive would be manned by 19 supervisors and 380 vaccinators headed by DPO (RCH&UIP), Dr. Rebecca Y Sema and other medical officers. She appealed to all sections of the community, agencies, organizations and parents of children below 5 years to come forward and ensure that the beneficiaries receive polio drops during the drive.
For the area of Longthonger village members of Baptist youth endeavour will aid the medical department in carrying out the activities during IPPI, said the release.
Following the workshop, District Task Force meeting on account of IPPI and Routine Immunization was held in DC Office, Kiphire on January 14. The meeting was chaired by Kiphire ADC Dr. Tinojongshi Chang.
He requested the attendees to aid the medical department in carrying out the programme to achieve the target. 
The attendees of the programme included programme officers, medical officers, nurses and BPMs.
