IRCS Nagaland extends relief to fire-affected families

The Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch (IRCSN), has extended relief assistance to families affected by a devastating fire that broke out at Officers’ Hill Colony, Kohima, on April 2. The fire displaced seven families and caused significant loss of property and essential belongings.

In a press release, IRCSN stated that its general secretary, Akhale V. Khamo, along with members of the managing committee and Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Counselor Kevineiü Sekhose, visited the site to assess the situation and provide necessary aid.

The relief team distributed essential items, including blankets, hygiene kits, kitchen sets, and cash support, to help the affected families meet their immediate needs.

During the visit, Khamo expressed deep sympathy for the affected families and reaffirmed IRCSN’s commitment to providing timely humanitarian assistance during emergencies. She emphasized the importance of community support and encouraged individuals and organizations to contribute towards aiding those in distress. Counselor Sekhose also extended her solidarity to the victims and commended the Indian Red Cross Society for its prompt and effective response in delivering aid to those in need.
