IRCSN observed 44th foundation day

The Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) observed its 44th Foundation Day at the Red Cross Building in Kohima on Thursday.
Presenting the report, IRCSN General Secretary Akhale V. Khamo highlighted global challenges including conflicts, climate change, economic hardship and health crises. She reaffirmed the Society’s neutral, impartial and independent humanitarian role in serving all sections of society.
She also expressed gratitude to the Governor (President), the Chief Minister (Vice President), and the Minister for Health & Family Welfare (Chairman) for their continued support, and acknowledged the Minister’s gesture in honour of his late parents. Khamo urged members to uphold the Society’s fundamental principles as it moves toward its 50th anniversary in 2032.
During the programme, a new hearse, donated by Health & Family Welfare Minister P. Paiwang Konyak in memory of his late parents, Langto Angh and Among Konyak, was flagged off during the programme.
Patrons Dr. Nicky Kire and K. Kikheto Sema assured continued support and lauded the Minister’s contribution. Founding member Dr. Viu Meru recalled the Society’s establishment 44 years ago and encouraged sustained humanitarian service. Senior pastor, Konyak Baptist Church, Kohima, Rev. Nahngom Konyak, offered a dedicatory prayer for the hearse.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by vice chairman Dr. R. Rose Chakhesang and a closing prayer by Dr. Nungshimeren.
